  • I miss my 02 SEL Taurus - 2005 Ford Five Hundred
    By -

This vehicle dosnt have the power of my 02 Sel Taurus, you would think having the same motor this car would fly like the Taurus. The 3.0 Duratec in my Taurus would give you whiplash, but not my Five Hundred. The inteior isnt as roomy either, but Ill get use to it. If your tall dont get a Five Hundred without adjustable pedals, the seats dont go back far. I do like the message center, it can be convienent. The Audiophile stereo is better than The Mach that was in the Taurus. It handles pretty good, It has better tires than the Taurus (Continentals) which dont last very long. This car is new for me, bought it used, its loaded and Im sure in due time Ill own an 08 Taurus Limited.

Buy the Pebble leather interior and with X-plan you have pure luxury for $25,000.

  • Awesome - 2005 Ford Five Hundred

In looking at the other reviews I must have gotten the best of the bunch. Aside from the initial rear brake problem, this car has been great. The transmission has worked flawlessly and the ride is fantastic. To fix the brake problem I went to my local parts store and purchased another brand of brakes and they have not had to be changed as frequently as before and work great! Cant say enough about the car. I would buy another but not for the $30,000.00+ price tag.

  • Chose over all others - 2005 Ford Five Hundred

Spent 3 solid months researching vehicles and settled upon Audi A6 or Volvo S60 but chose the 500 based upon its safety factor and roominess in both interior and trunk. Surprised by smooth driving, shifting and overall ride which I felt was comparable to those of European design -- in fact, its almost of that style in the front but the back end is not that attractive. Excellent gas mileage, average of 22.8 - 28.9. Did not choose AWD because I live in So. CA. Nice feature though.

  • Our great Ford 500 Sedan - 2005 Ford Five Hundred

We are very happy with our Ford 500 Sedan w/4 wheel drive. It is fun to drive and always commands a lot of positive attention. Gas mileage is good, the car is quiet and roomy with a lot of great features. We are fast becoming spoiled to all the conveniences we have in our beautiful car. We have been aproached in the Mall parking lot by several intrested indivuals requesting information regarding this car.

  • transaxle seals - 2005 Ford Five Hundred
    By -

My 500 front transaxle seals both failed at 4,400 miles and it took them 13 days to receive and then install the seals. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. Im wondering if this is going to be a recall issue.

  • Spacious Ford Sedan - 2005 Ford Five Hundred

The exterior design looks imposing and has a vast interior. The truck is enless perferct for a growing family. Some of the features could be improved. Was time for Ford to come with a different alternative for a large sedan in addition to the old Taurus.

  • I love it! - 2005 Ford Five Hundred
    By -

I love my 500. It feels like a pricey luxury vehicle with all the bells and whistles. 6-disc CD changer, adjustable pedals, leather seats, oh my! I got this baby used and it was still in perfect condition. The performance is slightly lacking but its not a race car, after all. This car is a beauty and it drives like a charm.

  • Great balance of quality for the price - 2005 Ford Five Hundred
    By -

I purchased my 2005 Ford Five Hundred SE in the fall of 2009 with 100,000 miles on it and currently have 170,000 after 3 years. The car has tremendous interior cabin space, and it has been a reliable car. I did stay away from the CVT transmission on purpose because of the problems reported by many. You dont realize how quiet and smooth the ride is until you test-drive something else. My wife and I are looking for another vehicle and find many fuel efficient cars (camry, civic, etc..) to be noisy and you give up a lot of comfort. I think I am going to find another used Ford Five hundred for her around $5,000-6,000. Great car
